I use mine by pointing mail to my existing e-mail address.
You are not wrong - it is prety much a vanity thing.

Currently we've got around 300 domains registered under za.net and
za.org and
so far we haven't had any negative feedback.  I was just wondering if
anyone 
on this list is actually using the domains and if so what for? Or are
people
just registering them purely for vanity purposes?
