Samuel, You're dead right - I only use mydomain.com these days for domain purchases these days. Seeing as we have access to dedicated DNS servers now, I host the zones on our own systems. I used to use PowerDNS' free PowerDNS Express service which allowed free hosting of 3 DNS zones, but they did away with the free service due to abuse. Then I suggest you get a different host, because I've used several hosts and they were all able to set up the account before the domain is registered. I do agree that on the more popular registrars, it should be possible to register even though the hosting is not yet in place, because domain names can be grabbed pretty quickly, but za.net isn't that busy, is it?
