Leon: Why does south africa in any case have domain names like co.za and so forth and other countries like the USA and Canada only th .us and .ca ? Samuel: I don't know *why* but I do know that the model followed by ZA is similar to the one followed by the UK and OZ. Yes, even Canada used to be secondlevelled, with names like qc.ca for ppl living the Quebec etc. And the .us names used to be statebound too (such as .ca.us for California, if I'm not mistaken), until recently.
