Yep, I agree with Graham. a) We run windoze b) We run outlook c) We (and some of our clients) are sometimes stupid enough to run unknown attachments. yet, although several messages containing the virus have already attempted to make their way through to users on our mail system, they have been stopped dead in their tracks! Not ourselves, nor our clients recieved the orginal message with the virus. I'm not just gloating, what I'm actually trying to say that I think ISP's and mailing list administrators should take it upon themselves to try and prevent these type of messages of getting through to the users, as the average user (and by that I defenitely include myself) are not always aware of what should be done to prevent these type of things... Besides which, the mailing list (Or the administrator thereof) should know better than to accept messages with attachments. There's no reason for it on a list like this, and there's DEFINITELY no reason to accept executable attachments. -----Original Message----- From: freedns-admin@xxxxxx [mailto:freedns-admin@xxxxxx]On Behalf Of Adriaan Rossouw Sent: Wednesday, 09 May 2001 12:55 To: freedns@xxxxxx Subject: Re: [FreeDNS] Homepage Not like he's doing it on purpose, it's the newest melissa clone. He can only be held responsible for a) running windoze b) running outlook c) being stupid enough to run unknown attachments.
