I see the sense in what you are saying.  Nevertheless I know of some of my
web sites that I have (in ignorance) submitted with a forwarding url, and in
the end the search engine listed the site under the long ugly name.  My best
bet would be to submit the site with both names, the long one and the short
one.  What do you think?
