RE: [FreeDNS] newbie question - hosting

Dear Samuel & Others

My organisation is prepared to host the DNS and redirect to another site for any entry (the "dummy" style registration that you refer to), and are also prepared to even host the website and email for ANY non profit organisation. There are obviously certain restrictions about commercial and sites that may be deemed unfit by KLEVA. There are no catches, and we do not put banners on sites.

If you are interested in this free offer, you are welcome to contact me directly or go to the web page of www.kleva.org/nonprofit.htm

Yours faithfully

Subject: [FreeDNS] newbie question - hosting

Samuel:

I've tried to find on-line resources describing this procedure, but I guess
the only way to learn is to do dummy registrations (which is usually not
allowed). I'm puzzled... how do you link the host to granitecanyon? Or
perhaps I should ask the other way round: how do I get granitecanyon to
forward a website request to the host? Suppose I'd like to use a freehost,
and lets take the blad example Geocities... how do I get the url to forward
to that address once I'm done with granitecanyon? I don't mind surfers
seeing the ugly long freehost address in their address bar.

Actually I don't have a subdomain registered at za.net, but at eu.org, but
the guy who kindly DNS'ed, hosted and e-mailhosted my domain name got a new
boss, who scrapped all "private" hostings from their computers. So now I
have to use public services. Eu.org doesn't have a mailing list like this
one.
