Maybee an alternative - but if you live close to your ISP's POP find out what an analogue leased line will cost you (it may be reasonable considering what you want to do) - if they have a non-digital service - if I am not mistaken the leased line modems are on rental from them - so all you then need is a FreeBSD/Linux box and you can really play... It certainly will mean that you can run your own daemons to your hearts content and then you benefit from a online connection -?
