Granitcity has some examples available
the RP records in there samples look like this:

coffee.com.  IN  RP juan.tea.com. Juan.Valdez.coffee.com.
coffee.com.  IN  RP juanita.tea.com. Juanita.Valdez.coffee.com.

But I also notice that you have no SOA record which could also cause some
hassles.

I'm having trouble trying to enter my details into granitecity's DNS 
service.

My details that I have entered are:

stc.za.net  IN NS ns1.granitecanyon.com
stc.za.net  IN NS ns2.granitecanyon.com

stc.za.net.  IN  RP sticker.icon.co.za.
simon.stc.za.net.    IN  TXT "Simon Taplin,    NIC handle: Simon1"
simon.stc.za.net.    IN  TXT "Simon Taplin,    RIPE NIC handle: SIMON"

localhost.stc.za.net.   IN  A  127.0.0.1

The problem is it keeps telling me: nscheck: RP TXT 
field is missing

Can somebody tell me where I'm going wrong.
