Actually Jan, you are wrong here. His NS records are ns1.elshost.com and
ns2.elshost.com. He happened to be querying his localhost when he tested.

The problem I notice is that the A records for ns1.elshost.com and
ns2.elshost.com don't exist.

  $ host ns1.elshost.com
  ns1.elshost.com does not exist, try again
  $ host ns2.elshost.com
  ns2.elshost.com does not exist, try again
  $ host ns1.elshost.com 66.246.48.57
  ns1.elshost.com does not exist at ip-addr-66-246-48-57.qnoc.net
(Authoritative answer)
  $ host ns1.elshost.com 66.246.48.58
  ns1.elshost.com does not exist at ip-addr-66-246-48-58.qnoc.net
(Authoritative answer)

Checking the addresses quoted by Andre, I confirm that the aels.za.net
domain is  authoritive on the two nameservers, however the failure to locate
the nameservers by name is the failing, as evident below:

  $ host -t ns aels.za.net 66.246.48.57
  aels.za.net             NS      ns2.elshost.com
   !!! aels.za.net NS host ns2.elshost.com does not exist
  aels.za.net             NS      ns1.elshost.com
   !!! aels.za.net NS host ns1.elshost.com does not exist

Andre, sort out the A records for ns1.elshost.com and ns2.elshost.com first.

Dude your first nameserver is localhost.  You need to find two remote
nameservers and then set it up that way.

Just to clarify a bit more.  127.0.0.1 is your local pc.  If you are
connected permanently to the net you can't use that as a nameserver even
if you wanted to.  You need to establish what your actual IP address is
and use that.
