Hi I will be out of the office / on leave until 2000-12-18. Per Klotzsch is standing in for me and can be contacted telephonically on (012) 529-7203. Regards David du Toit >>> "freedns@xxxxxx" 12/15/00 05:53 >>> Hello all. Unfortunately, by sending this out, I know it will flood the mail server even more, but at least I know people will see this message. I have Blind Carbon Copied it to everyone that I have seen using the FreeDNS list since I subscribed to it; if you have unsubscribed, I apologize for the inconvenience. Please, if there is someone you personally know who is using the ZANET mailing list, forward this to them. Apparently Mr DuToit is using an autoresponder to make sure people know he is away. This means that every time his mail server sees a message (his own included), it replies to it. This means messages are coming out from his server exponentially, and soon it will be sending out messages 100 MB and over in size (at which point it will hopefully crash :). I suggest that if you are using Microsoft Outlook Express 4 or above, you create a set of message rules. Instructions are as follows: Click Tools -> Message Rules -> Blocked Senders List -> Add -> "DUTOITDZ@xxxxxxxxxxxxx (Block the following: mail messages only). Alternatively, either block everything sent to freedns@xxxxxx (you will not see any more messages from the mailing list until you remove this block however), and / or unsubscribe from the mailing list (be aware that because the ZANET mail server is blowing out all these emails, it may not be able to process your request for a very long time :). When Mr DuToit returns, he can sort out the horrendous pile of shit he's left behind. If you are using another email client (such as Eudora, PINE, The Bat!, Agent, etc), or webmail, then I'm afraid I can't help you off the top of my head, as I don't use them <sheepish grin>. Search your help file or manual for instructions on adding a Kill Filter, and do the necessary. I am sure many people will have already contacted ZANET and yelled at them (I am sorely tempted to do so myself); do the above and wait patiently. _____________________________________________________ FreeDNS ZA NiC - free domain names freedns@xxxxxx Archive: http://www.za.net/freedns/ _____________________________________________________ FreeDNS ZA NiC - free domain names freedns@xxxxxx Archive: http://www.za.net/freedns/
