This is practically a NIC standardard.
Eg: Internic (.com/.net/.org) insist that changes come from the originating email address, and then also request confirmation from that email address.

This is used as a form of security, so that someone else can't take over your domain records and point them to another site. Otherwise someone could sneakily change say microsoft.com to go to their own server, or to someone elses like netscape.com.

I found a problem with the on-line forms for modifying a registration.

The system checks the origan of the message which (i my case anyway) didn't
match.

Can't remember if the on-line forms where submitted via active pages.  our
just e-mailed from us.
